Paula & Garrick

I ‘m pretty sure everyone felt it. No one could deny it. It was a day filled with powerfully charged emotions! In particular, LOVE. It seemed to be spilling out everywhere and between everyone: father and son, daughter and mother, brothers and sisters, best friends and well wishers….but complete and total adoration, love and mutual respect was felt as Paula & Garrick Burden walked out the temple doors as husband and wife! Congratulations you two!

The Becksteads

The other day a thought crept into my head: Why are the Becksteads so near & dear to my heart? I wondered if it’s because our daughters are best friends? Or maybe it’s because of the love that seeps out of Laurel as she talks about her scholars at AHA (American Heritage Academy). Maybe it’s because Quinn loves to come over and play nerf gun wars against unsuspecting teenagers? Or possibly it’s because of the  two weeks I spent with Laurel on the back east trip(Path of the Patriots) observing her OBSESSION, oops, I mean PASSION for our founding fathers, especially GEORGE (yep, as in Washington)…

Whatever it is,  I sure do love this family. So here’s my little snippet…

my dad

This is my dad, Jeff. The funny thing about taking pictures of your dad is that you can recognize, remember and sometimes even interpret different expressions according to your childhood memories.

Looking through pictures after the shoot, I came across one image of him with the expression on his face that I always interpreted as “WHA-T did I just hear you say young lady?” (insert scary English accent here).

Some of the images brought back memories like, “Yes, I’m just being your goofy dad…”

But THIS particular look on his face brought back memories of being loved (maybe even adored) and that I would always be his precious little girl no matter what. Sigh.

I wonder how many expressions I wear.. and do my kids recognize them? I bet they do…

Thanks for letting me share…
